Custom domains now available
A couple of days ago we announced that we’d soon be implementing custom domain functionality in to Easy Job Boards. Well, we quietly introduced the feature last night which means that as well as being able to run your job board on an easyjobboards.com subdomain e.g. myboard.easyjobboards.com, you can now run it on any domain which you own.
So, if you own newyorkaccountancyjobs.com, you can now run your job board directly from that address. Or, if you already have a company website, you can use a jobs subdomain like jobs.mycompany.com. There are only two things you need to do to make it work:
Step 1: Add the domain to your board settings
Log in to your board and go to the settings page. Add your domain name under Advanced Settings.
Step 2: Change DNS settings
When somebody types in your domain name, it needs to resolve to our server so we can show your job board. You can usually manage DNS settings at your domain registrar (where you registered the domain) or through a third-party DNS hosting company.
The best way is to add an alias or CNAME record which maps your full domain to your boards subdomain on Easy Job Boards. For example, the full domain geekjobs.im is an alias for geekjobs.easyjobboards.com.
With these changes made, your job board is available to visitors using your own custom domain. The private management interface still uses the subdomain.

lots of questions:
1) as a sole pratitioner headhunter, does this mean I can use your tool to seamlessly link from my YahooSmallBusines hosted website to a jobs page I create with you? If y how do I create a similar look & feel to the YSB template I’ve chosen?
2) I am also thinking of starting a couple of niche job boards to accept paid advertising. Does your $18/month product allow Paypal/Credit card purchases by job posters who can self-manage job postings?
3) do job pages hosted by you automatically get aggregated by Indeed.com amd simplyhired.com?
Seems like an interesting product, think I’ll try it out…

Hi Mike,
If you can administer your Yahoo! domain you should be able to create a subdomain for your job board. All you’d then have to do is follow the instructions above to get your board running under a subdomain of your website e.g. jobs.mycompany.com. You can customise your board by uploading your logo or branding which is then displayed on all of your public pages. If that level of customisation isn’t fine-grained enough, the ability for you to customise the colour of links, headings and paragraphs and other page elements is on its way, and should be released in the near future.
Charging users to list a job is another feature which has previously been requested and we’re still thinking about the best way to implement it, but is a high-priority feature and will be making an appearance soon.
This feature will probably become part of the “Plus” version of Easy Job Boards which will have more features and have a slightly different pricing structure but still offer great value.
At the moment we don’t integrate with any other service although this is something that we will be looking at in the near future. Thanks for mentioning this, we’ve now added it to our to-do list.
We have deliberately kept the initial feature set to a minimum so its development is guided by the users. These questions are exactly what we like to hear and help us gauge demand for features so we can make the best service we can.
Hope this helps.
